8 years after the first game, Red Dead Redemption 2’s release date is getting closer and closer and more details about the most talked about game this year is popping out.

Apparently, the new game’s installation size is 99GB for the PS4 and a whopping 107GB for the Xbox One. For the digital version in PS4, you’ll also need another 50GB worth of free space for the installation process, bringing in a total of 149GB for the entire game — as confirmed by Rockstar’s support website.

The humungous installation size might’ve prompted Rockstar to divide the actual game disc and the data disc into two. Luckily, if you’ve bought the game digitially, you can now pre-download the game on the Playstation and Xbox stores.

This report might’ve been confirmed by a Youtuber named Kofi on Twitter, where he posted a picture of two Red Dead Redemption 2 discs. The first disc is named “Data Disc” that features a young Dutch van der Linde on its front cover. This is where I’m assuming most of the required data in the installation process is located. Meanwhile, the second disc is named as the “Play Disc” which would be the main CD we will use once the game is installed.
