The upcoming “budget” iPhone has been on the rumor-mill in the past months. Nothing has been confirmed about the device yet. However, with the recent progress, it seems that the launch might happen earlier than expected.
A recent photo of an alleged protective case of this new “budget” iPhone supports the possibility that the release will be this week. The image, sent to MacRumors came from a Best Buy Employee. The employee also said that they may sell the cases only until April 5. This means that the new iPhone might be available before that time.
UPDATE: Apple iPhone SE 2020 Philippines
Based on the picture, the case box indicates an “iPhone 4.7-inch 2020”. This leaves us unsure whether the new device will have a name of iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9.
Just a week ago, Apple released the latest 2020 iPad Pro and Macbook Air 2020. Given a similar situation and this not being a high-end product, it is highly possible that Apple will unveil it in a press release, without any launch event.
The new affordable iPhone will most likely come with a 4.7-inch screen similar to iPhone 8. It’s also possible that there will be a larger 5.5-inch along with it.
