ASUS to update select Zenfone smartphones to Android 8.0 Oreo

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s better late than ever. In a recent Facebook post, ASUS has confirmed that they will be bringing the Android 8.0 Oreo software update to the select Zenfone devices.

The first device that will get the update is the ASUS Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL). The company said that the update will arrive before the end of June.

A few other devices are expected to receive the update by July. Included in the list are the Zenfone 3 Max (ZC520YL), Zenfone 3 Laser (ZC551KL), Zenfone 4 Max (ZB570TL), and the Zenfone Max Plus M1 (ZB570TL).

Unfortunately, these are the only ASUS devices that will the Android 8.0 Oreo update — at least for now. Hopefully, they will release another list including their other older smartphones so that they can also get a taste of Android Oreo.
