The folks at Cherry Mobile brings an early Christmas gift to people who wants to get their hands on an android phone. Not just one, but two cheap and formidable android devices were unveiled. They are the Cherry Mobile Candy TV and Cherry Mobile W100. Honestly, I was a bit surprised when I saw the price tag of those two considering their processor power. So I guess you’re interested in the price right? Take a look below.

As always, the details of the phones are somewhat limited or it is not fully revealed. It’s pretty compelling though and it is really interesting to see how would they perform.

The Cherry Mobile Candy TV is an android phone with a mobile TV so that streaming on the go is hassle free. It has a 1GHz processor which is a first in the budget category (versus the Galaxy Pocket and Optimus L3) because the norm is just 800MHz. And guess what, it is priced for only Php3,299! Cool, eh?

Cherry Mobile Candy TV Specifications

  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • Dual SIM / Dual Standby
  • 3.5-inch IPS Capacitive Touch Screen
  • 1GHz MediaTek6575 Processor
  • PowerVR SGX S31 GPU
  • 256MB RAM
  • No details on internal memory (expandable support of up to 32GB via microSD)
  • Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot
  • 2MP rear camera, VGA front camera
  • Bluetooth v2.1, microUSB v2.0
  • 3.5mm Audio Jack

On the other hand, the Cherry Mobile W100 also sports a 1GHz processor to fire up the phone. It also has access to 3G connectivity(which the Candy TV doesn’t have) so that mobile data will be fast enough to keep up to the world.  The Cherry Mobile W100 doesn’t have mobile TV though.

Both android phones will flaunt a 3.5-inch IPS Capacitive touch screen display that’s why we can expect beautiful color rendering and viewing experience with it. Although unconfirmed, I think it’s safe to assume that they have at least a 320×480 pixel resolution since something lower than that will probably produce a slightly pixelated display. The Cherry Mobile W100 goes for a price of Php3,499!

Cherry Mobile W100 Specifications

  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • Dual SIM / Dual Standby
  • 3.5-inch IPS HVGA LCD Capacitive Touch Screen
  • 1GHz Snapdragon Processor
  • PowerVR SGX S31 GPU
  • 256MB 512MB RAM
  • 512MB internal memory (expandable support of up to 32GB via microSD)
  • 3G connectivity
  • Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot
  • 3MP rear camera, VGA front camera
  • Bluetooth v2.1, microUSB v2.0
  • 3.5mm Audio Jack

Specs-wise, it’s pretty obvious that these are the best for its price. The closest competitor, MyPhone A818 Duo is only clocked at 600MHz so that is 400MHz short. The only question that’s left on people’s minds is how long will these phones last? I think they will probably do last if proper care is being implemented. If possible, I hope we could spend some time with these two devices so we could give you our insights on these phones.

Will you buy a Cherry Mobile Candy TV or W100? And if you already have one, kindly share some thoughts below to help others on deciding if it fits them.
