The GPU Turbo technology from Huawei is one of the biggest breakthroughs in the industry for this year.

It provides an extra boost in graphics performance on select Huawei and Honor smartphones. And the interesting part is, it only comes via a software update. So in theory, your existing device might become compatible with it.

The Honor Play and Honor 10 GT, being gaming-centric smartphones, already came with GPU Turbo out of the box. Huawei also brought the said feature to the P20 Pro via an OTA update a few days back. That’s in-line with the update schedule that Huawei provided us back in June.

And now, Huawei is adding the Nova 3 to the list of compatible devices. The GPU Turbo will be available via a software update, which you can check in the settings menu.

With its flagship-like specs, the Huawei Nova 3 can already deliver an impressive performance. But with this latest update, expect even better gaming experience with this thing.

But do bear in mind that the GPU Turbo currently only works with PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Huawei did promise that more games shall be compatible with it soon.

We’re also expecting to hear something from Huawei about the GPU Turbo being available on their current midrange device, the Huawei Nova 3i.

In our full review of that device, the Nova 3i only had a mediocre gaming performance. Hence, its owners could really benefit from this update.
