Smart Communications, Inc. the wireless subsidiary of PLDT, has been hailed as the fastest mobile network in the Philippines for another year by Ookla, an internet performance analytics firm.
The said award was given to Smart Communications during the 2023 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain.

Ookla awarded Smart as the Best Mobile Network, Fastest Mobile in the Philippines. A title it has held for five years in a row now. Smart was also hailed as the Best Mobile Coverage.
PLDT highlighted that Smart is “the first and only Philippine mobile operator to be given Ookla’s prestigious Best Mobile Network award”. The said award was given after Smart managed to own the Fastest Mobile Network and Best Mobile Coverage within the same period.
The award was presented by Shivani York, Ookla’s Chief Operating Officer, and Shawn Heidel, Ookla’s Chief Commercial Officer. It was received by Smart First VP Lloyd Manaloto and network head Eric Santiago.
