OPPO-A9-2020-release-date

OPPO’s popular smartphone line-up, the OPPO A series, is getting a major upgrade with the upcoming launch of the OPPO A9 2020 and A5 2020.

The company may have other interesting offerings, like the Reno 10X Zoom, but there’s no denying that the A series is still their best sellers. In fact, a research firm hailed OPPO as the dominating smartphone brand in the Philippines in Q2 of 2019 thanks to devices like the OPPO A5s.

With that, it appears that OPPO is putting a lot more well-deserved attention to this series as they expected to launch two more feature-packed OPPO A devices in the Philippines.

The company’s local arm didn’t provide us with the full specs list. However, they did spill some of their key specs to get us excited.

For starters, the OPPO A9 2020 will boast a quad-camera setup on the back, with a special mention in its 48-megapixel primary shooter and ultra-wide camera. The device will also sport a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos technology, which is a first in the series.

Another exciting feature is its Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, which is bundled with a generous 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a whopping 5,000mAh battery.

Next stop, there’s the OPPO A5 2020. This one will sport the same Snapdragon 665 chipset, 128GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery. The memory was dialed down to 4GB, while a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter is found on the back and an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

OPPO also revealed the A9 2020’s design in their promo materials, which should also be identical to the new A5’s. It appears to take inspirations from the OPPO F11, with the horizontal color gradient on the back, a vertical multiple camera array above the fingerprint scanner, and the waterdrop notch on top.

The company shall give us more information about the OPPO A9 2020 and A5 2020 once they become official on September 19, 2019.
