It looks like were nearing the release of the long-awaited Redmi Note 9.
We’ve already seen the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max last month. However, there were no signs of a vanilla Redmi Note 9 model unlike what they’re used to. Well, at least until now.
China’s telecommunication authority, TENAA, has always been the source for leaks of soon-to-be-released Chinese phones.
And just recently, the folks at XDA Developers have spotted a Redmi device with a model number of M2003J15SC on the said website. The design looks exactly like the Redmi Note 9 Pro, which leads us to believe that this is going to be the upcoming Redmi Note 9.
There’s the quad-camera array on the back, with a familiar 2×2 layout in the middle. The rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is seen below the cameras, with the LED flash on the right side.
Adding some exposure on the image, you can clearly see that the punch-hole on the screen is now on the far left, instead of the middle like the Pro models.
The TENNA listing also reveals some of the key specs of the Redmi Note 9. There’s the 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS panel with a 2340 x 1080 pixel resolution, a generous 4,920mAh battery, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.

No official info for the actual chipset used, but it did say that the device will come with a 2.0GHz octa-core processor. The device will weigh 198g and has dimensions of 162.3 x 77.2 x 8.9mm.
The Redmi Note 9 should sit between the Redmi Note 9 Pro models and the more affordable Redmi Note 9s. We expect to see more leaks on this device as its release goes near so be on the lookout for that.
