It has been more than a year since Xiaomi, under its sub-brand POCO, launched Pocophone F1.

The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 became a major hit to both consumers and tech-enthusiasts alike. That’s because of its aggressive pricing and insane value for money.

It has flagship specs despite being priced below Php20K. It uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with 6GB RAM and a liquid-cooling system which, at that time, were only present in high-end smartphones. With the Pocophone F1, Xiaomi established a solid contender in the market.

Despite the success of Pocophone F1, we were not able to hear anything from Xiaomi about the device’s possible successor. Throughout the year, numerous rumors and speculations circulated but nothing was confirmed up to this date. Even fans have been asking for updates but Xiaomi has kept mum on the topic.

However, just recently,  Xiaomi’s Global head Alvin Tse posted a tweet hinting the possible release of Pocophone F1’s successor. In a reply to a Twitter user asking about the future of POCO, Tse tweeted, “You will hear more from POCO in 2020”. The tweet was then removed.

Is this a confirmation that there will be a Pocophone this 2020? Most likely it is. Considering it’s only a few days before the year ends, it’s no surprise if POCO will release a smartphone early next year. Xiaomi has not given any details on this matter. For now, we’ll just have to wait for the brand’s official statement.
