huawei p20 pro durability test

There are a lot of YouTube channels that are doing different stress and durability tests in high-end smartphones but no one does it as good as JerryRigEverything.

This time, the famed smartphone executioner is putting one of Android’s best through its courses. The device we’re talking about is the new Huawei P20 Pro — a Php44,990 smartphone which has the best camera on a mobile phone today according to DxOMark.

Getting right to it, the YouTuber put the Huawei P20 Pro in its usual stress tests. The video starts off with Jerry testing the screen’s credibility in handling scratches. He used 9 different Mohs picks and the P20 Pro’s screen already showed some scratches after the level 6 Mohs, and eventually got worse at level 7.

The test was done without the pre-applied screen protector which means that the display glass is completely naked. The Huawei P20 Pro is not covered in Corning Gorilla Glass, so we can expect to be just some generic tempered glass.

Another evidence to that is when he did a bend test on the Huawei P20 Pro. The AMOLED panel inside remained intact, but the glass itself cracked. The root of the breakage is probably because of the previous scratch made. so there’s a chance that the crack could have been avoided if there wasn’t a scratch in the first place.

On the other hand, the burn test also gave the P20 Pro some bruises. After being lit up by a lighter, the burned area got damaged and it wasn’t able to recover.

At the end of all this, the device ultimately survived which means that it can withstand some minor beating. But if you intentionally go hard on it, then you might have to say goodbye to your Huawei P20 Pro.
