There’s a new kid on the block. Just recently, Xiaomi announced yet their another contender for the midrange segment — the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro.
Xiaomi’s new device is part of their product line that will try to bring more value to every penny that you’d be paying. It packs a capable set of specs, durable design, and a really appealing price tag.
But as you all know, things have really changed now. A few years ago, Xiaomi is the only smartphone brand that’s brave enough to bring absurdly affordable handsets in the market. But now, we have manufacturers like Honor, a Huawei sub-brand, that are coming up with really interesting midrange devices.
One of their latest releases, the Honor 8X, became an instant hit because of the incredible value that it offers for the money. Just like the Redmi Note 6, the 8X has both beauty on the outside and inside.
With that, we’re curious to see how Xiaomi’s latest offering stacks up with Honor. If you’re interested, sit back, relax, and check out our Honor 8X versus Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro specifications and features comparison.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has the title of being the first quad-camera smartphone from the Chinese brand. Meanwhile, the Honor 8X is marketed as a phone with high-numbered specs, allowing it steal the win in this comparison.
As you can see, the Honor 8X has 128GB of internal storage, which is two times more than what the Redmi Note 6 Pro has despite the same price tag.
The Honor 8X also takes the win in the display department. Its enormous 6.5-inch Full HD+ screen provides enough room to make playing games and watching videos more immersive. Also, the ultra-thin bezels made it relatively compact than other 6-inchers out there. This is just one of the things we liked about it in our hands-on review.
As for the processors, we expect the Honor 8X to churn out better performance than the Redmi Note 6 Pro. The former sports a 2.2GHz Kirin 710 processor, while the latter has a 1.8GHz Snapdragon chipset.
The 8X is also compatible with Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology, which can make frame rates on select games smoother and fun to play with.
All of that hardware is crammed inside an elegant and sturdy build. The Honor 8X is dressed in glass in the front and back, held together by a metal chassis. Honor even included a vertical design accent on the far left of the back plate. A small design touch that’s highly appreciated.
But to Xiaomi’s credit, the Redmi Note 6 Pro’s camera system is a bit more impressive than the 8X. There are a 20-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual selfie snappers on the front, while the Honor 8X only has a single 8-megapixel camera.

On the back, Xiaomi’s offering has a 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel camera combo, which is made even better by its dual-pixel PDAF capability. On the other hand, the Honor 8X comes with 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel primary cameras on the back.
Lastly, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro also has a marginally bigger battery. It has a capacity of 4,000mAh while the other has 3,750mAh.
To wrap it up, the Honor 8X wins this battle thanks to its bigger screen, storage capacity, and better performance. But if you’re really into mobile photography, then maybe the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is the one for you. Either way, both smartphones are definitely a steal for their price of only Php12,999.
