Rockstar Games is like the Apple of the game industry. Their products are some of the most anticipated in the industry; however, they are also some of the most secretive developers in gaming.

Their most anticipated game is Grand Theft Auto 6, the much-awaited successor to the GTA V from eight years ago. In the last few years, rumors about GTA 6 have ignited, and any small possible hints about it have been hyped-up — which is no surprise considering how limited the information is.

It is said that GTA 6 might be announced in late 2020 or early 2021, right in time for the next-gen consoles’ release, the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Instead, we’re getting yet another revamped version of the game for next-gen consoles.

There are people who are close to Rockstar employees who swore that GTA 6 will be launched very soon. But how soon enough is yet to be determined.

Now, a former Rockstar Games insider and Twitter user @Yann2295 took to Twitter and shoot down rumors that the GTA 6 will be launching anytime soon. You can see the Twitter post below.

Now, it’s no surprise that GTA 6 is already in development. Years ago, it’s said that Rockstar Games have immediately started working on GTA IV just weeks since GTA: San Andreas came out.

However, with Red Dead Redemption 2 in the middle, the creation process for GTA 6 might have been delayed. One source suggests that GTA 6 began development in 2014.

As of writing, Rockstar is still actively developing GTA V, particularly GTA Online, where they are releasing periodic updates with new missions, cars, and other elements.

In the meantime, GTA fans have no choice but to devour every little hint they can find about GTA 6. There are rumors saying that GTA 6 may take place in multiple locations. Some said it will be set in Vice City in the ’80s, or will have a Narcos-like theme, or maybe set in a big map from all previous GTAs combined, something out of a die-hard GTA fan’s dream.
