The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has launched a new automated platform for easier licensing and permit processes for telcos and internet infrastructures. This is part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to expedite the shift to digital processes for faster and more efficient government service.

Dubbed the Online Processing System with Digital Payment System (OPS-DPS), the goal of the project is to streamline and expedite the processing and issuance of permits, licenses, and other documents for telecommunications and internet infrastructure.

The said system was provided by Htech Corp. Its pilot implementation will be in the Services and Interconnection Division of the NTC.

NTC said that the grand launch of the whole OPS-DPS system will be in October 2023, with the DPS component launching first in September.

The system was demoed by the NTC and Htech Corp., with the attendance of representatives from PLDT-Smart, Globe, DITO, and Converge ICT.

With a more efficient permit and license acquisition, providers can roll out and build infrastructure faster.
