After the whole Galaxy Note 7 fiasco — and the expected release of its refurbished version —regular consumers and tech enthusiasts like us were pretty excited to see how can Samsung execute a Galaxy Note comeback. But considering how fine the Galaxy S8 has been, we’re pretty optimistic about these new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 leaks.

These new details came from Evan Blass of Venturebeat, which is probably the most prominent leaker in the mobile tech industry.

As expected, it looks like Samsung will be sticking with the Galaxy S8’s looks. As per Evan’s sources, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will sport a 6.3-inch bezel-less display a.k.a Infinity Display. The new phablet will also hang on to the 18:5:9 aspect ratio, making the entire device look tall and slim.

As for the processor, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will have the same top-notch configurations as with the Galaxy S8. Since they are just months apart, Samsung really doesn’t have any SoC of choice since they already went all out with the S8.

Hence, it is said that Americans will rock the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 variant, while the other countries will have Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 chipset. No worries though, as Sammie’s in-house processor still gained quite a lot of praise. And the Galaxy S8 is the testament to that.

And since the Galaxy Note series’ prominent features are its multitasking capabilities both in hardware and software level, the upcoming 8th-generation is expected to rock 6GB of RAM. Samsung is said to have also improved the split-screen multitasking experience.

Probably one of the biggest questions about the Galaxy Note 8 is if it would be the first Samsung device to finally have a dual-camera setup. Earlier last month, the Galaxy C10 with two lenses at the back was leaked. It is then expected to be the Korean tech giant’s first device in the dual-camera field, but we kind of doubt that they will introduce the said feature in a non-flagship device.

But thanks to this leak, it looks like the first dual-camera smartphone from Samsung will come in a flagship product. As per the leak, the Galaxy Note 8 will have two 12-megapixel sensors at the back.

To spice things up, both are going to be optically stabilized, a first in the industry. However, they didn’t mention whether the accomplice sensor will sport a wide-angle lens, or provide an optical zoom function.

It looks like Samsung has already learned their lesson. As per the report, the Galaxy Note 8 is set to have a 3,300mAh battery. That’s a tiny bit smaller than its predecessor’s 3500mAh storage cell. Hopefully, it will prevent any bad thing to happen ever again.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a real new Galaxy Note device without the obligatory updated S Pen features. As per the report, the S Pen’s new feature includes full-sentence language translation and currency conversion. Samsung also added the ability to pin handwritten notes on the always-on display.

Unsurprisingly, Samsung is also bringing both Bixby and DeX compatibility to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. And with Bixby onboard, we can expect another dedicated button reserved for it.

For the price, it is said that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be sold at about €999. That’s around Php56,000, an expected price a lot more expensive from the Galaxy S8’s Php39,990 and Galaxy S8 Plus’ Php45,990 price tags.
