The Find series from OPPO is a once in a few years type of device. That’s why it’s only now that we’re starting to see rumors about the OPPO Find X2 a couple of years after its predecessor.

OPPO has already confirmed that the OPPO Find X2 is in the works. Tons of rumors and leaks have also come out in the previous months. So today, we’ve consolidated all of them to see everything we currently know about this new flagship smartphone. Also, make sure you stay tuned as we’ll be updating this article once more information becomes available.

OPPO Find X2 design

With the first OPPO Find X, we were treated with an incredible experience, thanks to its unique design and flagship hardware. We’re expecting nothing less with the upcoming OPPO Find X2.

The first one came with a pop-up camera mechanism that worked really well with the device’s design. No information is available if the Find X2 will use the same tech, or if they will finally put their under-screen camera technology to use. But it’s clear that it will also have an all-screen design.

Shen Yiren, an OPPO executive, also confirmed that the OPPO Find X2 will be thicker than the Reno 3 Pro. That’s possibly due to its big battery and the motors used if OPPO decides to put a pop-up camera on this thing.

OPPO Find X2 series rumored specs

The first Find X came with a Snapdragon 845 processor, the popular flagship chipset during its time. With the OPPO Find X2, it’s probably safe to assume that the rumors about its Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset are true. This will also enable the device’s 5G connectivity.

We expect the OPPO Find X2 to come with at least 8GB of RAM and a 12GB model is also plausible. The internal storage will not be lower than 128GB, although it might start with 256GB.

One of the highlights of the Find X was its display, thanks to its bezel-less curved design. With the Find X2, rumors say that it will have a fast 120Hz panel, with a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and spans at 6.5-inches.

OPPO Find X2 will have a sharp QHD+ resolution, although it might not be as curved as what the Huawei Mate 30 Pro has.

If you think those features already make the device interesting, wait until you hear this: Alongside Qualcomm’s flagship processor, OPPO allegedly has created its own co-processor that will help handle the Find X2’s fast and high-resolution display, without taxing the battery too much.

We expect OPPO to use its fastest charging technology on its upcoming high-end device. Their fastest charging tech as of the moment is seen on the Reno Ace, which is at a whopping 65W. The OPPO Find X2 would probably have this, too.

The next rumor we heard was a bit ludicrous. The OPPO Find X2’s wireless charging is expected to match its wired charging. It’s said that the Find X2 will have a shocking 50W wireless charging support. We’re not sure how OPPO will be able to pull off something like this, but we’ll be definitely impressed if they can do it.

The OPPO Find X2 is expected to rock the upcoming flagship camera sensor from Sony. Rumor has it that the phone will sport the upcoming 48-megapixel Sony IMX708 sensor.

The Sony IMX708 will have a large size of 1/1.3″. It also has a new omnidirectional focusing technology, which is an improvement over the Dual Pixel AF that smartphones have these days.

OPPO might also bring its periscope-style telephoto camera of the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom to the OPPO Find X2.

OPPO Find X2 pricing

The OPPO Find X launched in the Philippines with a price of Php49,990. No word yet about the Find X2’s pricing, but we expect it to be in the same ballpark or slightly more expensive.

OPPO needs to be smart about its pricing, considering that it’s facing competition from more prominent brands like Samsung and Huawei.

Release date and availability of OPPO Find X2

OPPO is yet to set a date for the release of the OPPO Find X2. However, an official word from the company confirms that the said device will arrive in Q1 of 2020.

With that, we expect to hear from OPPO in the coming weeks. A February release is also highly plausible as both the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Xiaomi Mi 10 are coming out on the same month.

We’ll be updating this article once more information becomes available, so make sure you stay tuned for that.

UPDATE: The OPPO Find X2 and Find X2 Pro are now official.
