Samsung continues to improve its Galaxy A line-up by introducing the devices’ “s” counterparts. That’s just months after the original models came out.
One of the devices to get the facelift is the Samsung Galaxy A70. This has been one of the most popular Galaxy A devices since the company consolidated its budget-friendly offerings by completely removing the Galaxy J branding.
With the Samsung name still one of the most renowned in the industry, this sub-Php22k smartphone easily flourished in the market.
So to keep the momentum going, the company released a quick follow-up with the Samsung Galaxy A70s.
Obviously, this one will offer improvements over the older model. But, how much have really changed? Should you really consider the “s” model, or save some cash and get the previous edition instead? That’s what we’ll about to see in our Samsung Galaxy A70 vs Galaxy A70s specs comparison.

As what you just saw, the Samsung Galaxy A70s just feels like a refined version of the Galaxy A70, instead of being a completely new model.
What Samsung did was to improve the device’s design. The plain-looking back panel was replaced with a prism aesthetic that really improves its looks. We’ve seen the same improvement in the new Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A50s.
The Samsung Galaxy A70s also has an improved primary camera. Samsung is introducing its brand new 64-megapixel Bright GW1 sensor, which was first used by Chinese brands like Xiaomi and Realme.
But other than that, it’s still the same Galaxy A70 from before. There’s still the gigantic 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen, with an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a complimenting 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging technology.
Clearly, these devices are made for powerusers that need a lot of space for productivity. Also, the inclusion of Dolby Atmos technology makes it great for binge-watching on Netflix. Although, it would been better to see a stereo speaker setup on this thing.
Also, it still uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor, which may not be the most powerful chipset for the price. On the upside, the Galaxy A70s has an 8GB memory option. But just like the Galaxy A70 model, we might only get the 6GB model here in the Philippines.
Samsung also kept the 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front. While on the back, we’re still seeing an 8-megapixel ultra-wide snapper and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.

To sum it up. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t get the Samsung Galaxy A70s instead of the newer model. Its official price in the Philippines is yet to be announced, but we expect it to retail similarly to the previous model.
To make way for the newer variant, we expect Samsung Philippines to drop the price of the Galaxy A70. Just like what they did to the Galaxy A50 and A30 when their “S” counterparts were announced.
But if you really want to save some cash, and you don’t mind the Galaxy A70s’ new design and more pixel-packed primary camera, then settling to the older model should be a wise and economical idea.
I love A70 version
I see no bid change
