AnTuTu has released their monthly top 10 lists of best performing Android phones for September, and it brings some expected and surprising winners.
Taking the top spot is the ASUS ROG Phone and its overclocked Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. With a score of 299,706, it’s just a few miles away from another gaming smartphone, the Xiaomi Black Shark, who took the second spot with a score of 290,602.
OnePlus 6, a bang-for-the-buck flagship device, beats the odds as it steals the third spot with a score of 289,424. Also, both Xiaomi’s Mi 8 (285,544) and Mi Mix 2S (269,550), another budget-friendly flagship handset takes the fifth and ninth spot, respectively.
The ASUS Zenfone 5Z, another under-Php30k high-end smartphone, was able to make it on the 8th spot with a score of 269,933.
Oddly enough, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (Snapdragon 845 variant), one of the most expensive devices on this list, is only at the seventh place as it garnered an average score of 283,240.
Moreover, the Vivo NEX S and the OPPO Find X proves that they are more than just good looks as they take a seat on this top 10 list. Vivo’s offering had a score of 289,049, stealing the fourth spot, while OPPO’s current flagship is at number six with a score of 285,338.
Probably the most surprising winner here is the Xiaomi Pocophone F1. With an average score of 268,367, the device managed to get a seat on the tenth place. This is probably the first time we saw a midrange device on a top list such as this.
We’ll see how these rankings change once the newcomers get benchmarked. For one, we’re excited to see how the new Huawei Mate 20 series and their new 7nm Kirin 980 processor stacks up with these devices.
There’s also the new Razer Phone 2, another gaming smartphone that will rival both the ASUS ROG Phone, Xiaomi Black Shark, and Google’s Pixel 3 devices.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. For the meantime, if you want the best that the Android platform has to offer, you should closely monitor the monthly top lists that AnTuTu releases.
